So in homebase today, someone was talking about Melyssa being pregnant and Mrs. Pelgrin overheard and told us to tell her to get an abortion. And then we got into a conversation about abortion

The whole thing has always been "is fetus really a baby" Well technically it isnt. But think about it..if your mother said, I want an abortion, you wouldnt be here. You wouldnt be able to live..and be someone. There are so many precious moments in life..so many things to be seen. Accidents do happen. But, common now. Losing that chance to live is just horrible thinking about it, its like suicide. Its murder. Its not right. Im not saying im against it, im just saying I wouldnt have the guts to do it. If you had to make that decision..how would you feel? What would be the outcome? and by getting an abortion it hurts your chances by having another baby, a baby thats healthy. And it makes you think..what if I did have him/her. What would have happened? Would my life be differant? And it would be on your shoulders for the rest of your life. People can make there own decisions, its not all about whether or not we agree. Just put yourself in there shoes, think strongly and deeply about it. In my opinion..its not worth it.

Im not saying you cant have another baby later on in life. Yeah, youll wonder, but then youll get another chance, when youre ready.

yeah, but as said, when you have the abortion, "it hurts your chances by having another baby, a baby thats healthy"... would you want to take the risk in aborting a child now when you're "not ready" (but have choices like adoption) and then later in life have a child with disabilities? and what would you do if you did the testing and found out the baby wasn't completely healthy? abort it then? not to be harsh, but we just discussed this in our biology class... there has to be some sort of line, and like my latter comment, some people use abortion as birth control, which isn't fair to anyone really.

if you're gonna have sex then you can suffer the pain of birth. you dont have to have an abortion if you're not readyjust HAVE the child then someone else can care for it.

the only thing thati'm uneasy on is i want them to keep it legal because i know if its illegal then girls will try and do it themselves then their gonna hurt themselves.

a fetus is a person
if it has a heartbeat, it's living
if you don't want the kid
then give it up for adoption
if you're not ready to take care of the consequences of sex,
with or without protection,
then you're not ready to have sex
it takes a stronger person to deal with it
than someone who takes the easy way out
by ending the life of an innocent child
because you thought sex was just fun and games

i am FOR abortion, HOWEVER, i don't believe in using it AS birth control. yeah, as you said "accidents happen" however, when you're having sex, even using protection, you run the risk of pregnancy, and if you're not prepared to deal with those consequences, then you shouldn't be having sex. even if you don't plan on getting pregnant (ie: using the contraceptive and such), to be redundant, you still made the choice and should realize the risk of it happening to you.
i agree with abortion used in the cases of incest and rape, however, i don't believe that if you're just having sex (protected or not) you should be like, "eh, i'll have an abortion". like maureen commented, there's adoption and other options!
