So the semester is over. I am doing that crazy packing dance. This year it is worse than usual because all I get to take with me is two seventy-five pound boxes and two carry-on’s. So I haven't posted as often as I should lately, and it's because of school. Dr. Baas substituted in my Computer Architecture class and gave us a super hard assignment. It's in x86 asm (we haven't learned any and it's not in our books) and we had a week to do it. Also, it's really vague. Oh well. I need a break. So I give you this to chew on:

Mathematics as Poetry
We have all read poetry. Whether we liked it or not was another story. But have we really seen the limits of what can be poetry?
I suggest that even Mathematics can be poetry. Now it is obviously different from regular poetry in that Mathematics is not a natural language. I am not saying that mathematics is something that we created, but it is ( Read more... ) -

What is poetry? What makes it different than prose? Some people think that they are actually the same. These are the same people that write some of the modern poetry that has no meter or rhyme. Strings Help File
So today I wrote the help file for my Strings computer architecture program. I am pretty happy with it. I also finished the program, but the program is due on Thursday, so I don't wanna do something silly like post the source code on the internet. I have been slowly going through the Mind Performance Hacks book and one of the things that he talks about is the Dominic System of memory. It works like this:
Each number has a reference to a letter and vice versa:

It's just math
I remember when I was at work and a few of the guys there had this saying. Whenever you were discussing programming and you would say, "I don't want to do X because it would be so hard to program," they would reply, It's just code.
