WOW. That was fantastic.

How does this Show keep getting better? I was blown away tonight... They drew on so much that hadn't been mentioned in forever and it was awesome. Clare. What Castiel did to Jimmy and his family. John! Badassing his way to save Dean from Bad People. Loved Crowley and Rowena ("I was worth at least five pigs.") But Cas and Sam and Dean... There was ( Read more... )

I'm so glad that I'm not the only person who loved the episode. Most people seem rather disappointed.
Like you, I felt that it had a lot of depth, not in terms of plot, but in terms of character as well as moral earnestness, and I thought that the different storylines were integrated very nicely because they were all united by one big common theme.

*hugs*

Frozen, thank you so much for your comment. I was astounded to hear people being grumpy about this episode. I watched it with my BFF and we were both blown away by it. I turned to her about halfway through and said, "My God, this is amazing. This is one of the best ones ever..." And she thought so, too. The depth, the places they went with regard to so many things not touched on for years, things only explored in fanfic - John and the boys in NYC when Dean was still a teenager? Caring about Jimmy Novak and his family? I thought the girl who played Clare was brilliant, too.

I really don't get how people ended up disappointed. What were they expecting, I wonder, that they didn't get?

I'm a glass half full kinda girl, and I really enjoyed the vast majority of the episode. There were some real highlights, not just about the brothers (the grilled cheese and that ending), but they answered a few questions regarding Jimmy, gave us wicked Rowena and Crowley moments, plus we got a positive John memory which never happens!

I left wanting more and that's a good thing! Plus I like the feeling of being equal parts excited and scared for what the future holds!

I was so excited, I think, because they were going deep in terms of character, and it felt almost like fanfic territory sometimes (in a good way). John and the teenage boys in NYC and that whole John rescuing Dean who had really gotten himself in trouble? Rowena and Crowley were fun, but I was absolutely riveted by what was going on with the boys and Castiel, and the really interesting stuff about parenting, and protection, and how about that whole Oliver Twist kind of set up with poor Clare and that creep?

The ending was just... OMG.

Sorry I'm not very articulate. Work is nuts and I'm writing this at 3 in the morning because my sleep is all screwed up. We also got a new puppy and she's beautiful but MAN is she a lot of work. (This was daughter and hubby's idea.) It's a husky, and it's like having a baby wolf that howls piteously whenever it's upset. Maybe we should change our last name to Stark. Or maybe that's NOT such a good idea. LOL.

Yes, yes ,yes! I loved all of that stuff, it felt like they answered a lot and gave us some real juicy moments.

A husky puppy - that's just adorable! But yeah, I guess it's kinda like having a newborn baby with all the crying!!!
