If you check the restrictions electronics are still okay to bring onboard. It is just liquid things they will not allow. They recommend that you pack your electronics, but it is not a must. So, if you are like Ben Stiller from "Meet the Parents" and afraid your laptop/iPod/camrea will be swithced for some S&M gear, you still have the carry on options. Just don't mention the "B" word.
