So it's been about two months since the wedding and subsequent move, and not much has happened aside from near-crippling social anxiety and agoraphobia. I still don't have a job because we only have one car, and have become increasingly isolated to the point where talking to anyone but the RTH induces mildly to severely disabling panic. You've definitely had some serious changes in your life lately. I'm glad RTH is being supportive! Like I said on the other site, I hope the appointment helps.

I just really feel for you after having lived with a similar issue for years. I could go to work but that was it, everything else I had to beg my mother and sister to go with me, even a quick trip to a grocery store. Every so often I would try to go out by myself, and would work up the courage, start the car, and get out of my driveway, but then the anxiety would hit and I would hyperventilate and be on the verge of tears and have to run back into the safety of my house where no one could see me. After therapy I know that my triggers were 1) being so heavy and 2) growing up, I was always told I wasn't allowed to leave the house because kidnappers were out there and I would be stolen away forever and who knows what else. I was taught that the world is a scary place... I know that's different from your situation, but it just effing sucks and I wish you the best. :/

...actually that DOES sound similar to my own upbringing. My mother was super-overprotective of me because of my health issues, and constantly warned me about kidnappers, rapists, child molesters etc., so I wasn't allowed to do anything or go anywhere. She also did everything for me, and I never learned how to cook or clean or really be a functional person. It didn't help that I was a weird kid and was picked on for 14 straight years in school.

And it wasn't just me: When my sister moved in with Justin, now her husband, she told me Mom called her 17 times a day until they told her to knock it off. When I told her the RTH was stationed in San Antonio, she pleaded with me to move back as soon as we can. Um, no. I don't want to live in Muskegon the rest of my life, thanks, and I especially don't want to be under her emotional control.
