was the tick a dog tick or a deer tick? Dog ticks don't carry Lyme dieses, and they are the ones the size of an eraser, deer ticks are black and hard to spot because they are the size of a head of a pin :)

Also to save the fire, if you coat the entire body of a tick in oil, it is unable to breathe and will take its head out of you, then you can take the tick and burn it :) It is safer then just lighting it on fire while it is connected to someone.

well i know about the oil, hust didnt think of it, and it was a dog.
