Truth or Dare; J/B & E/B; PG for alcohol savannahjan June 10 2008, 20:16:58 UTC
The night before her wedding, Bella went to La Push to say goodbye to Jake. And ended up being suckered into a game of truth or dare. It had all been rather tame until Jake had pulled out a bottle of Jack and poured shots. “Shoot for everything that’s true.” They’d been playing for 30 minutes and Bella’s head was more than fuzzy when Jake asked, “Do you wish it was me waiting for you at the end of that aisle tomorrow?” Tears pushed at the edges of her eyes as Bella picked up the glass and tipped her head back, feeling the burn of the alcohol as it ran down.

“Sometimes, I wish I wasn’t so stubborn,” she said through tear-blurred eyes.

“I love you, anyway,” Jake whispered, as he took another shot.

I CAN'T STOP READING THIS ONE. IT'S SO BRILLIANT. She's going to regret all that drinking the next day though. Hungover on her wedding day, how awful.

They were sitting in the garage, taking turns swigging from a bottle of vodka and Bella was wondering how in God's name she hadn't thought of this before.

It had been easy to get the bottle. In an ironic reversal of their trip to the movies with Mike Newton, Bella had supplied the cash and Jake had done the purchasing - he didn't exactly look like a child anymore.

Now she was slightly drunk for the first time in her life and she closed her eyes, breathed heavily, wholly.

The relief was unimaginable.

The pictures behind her eyes were fuzzy now, blurred. No more sharp edges to carve at the hole in her chest.
