It all came down to luck because she had been his a moment before that phone call and then it all came crashing down. Their lips had been so close he could feel her heat. And then the phone rang. Bad luck that it had rang just then. Bad luck that he had answered.

Jacob thought of bad luck every time he heard a phone ring. Thought of Bella running to Edward, leaving him behind in the dark kitchen.

But she had been his for that short time. Was that good or bad luck?

Oh a really like this. Was that good or bad luck? There's a whole philosophy behind the answer to that question.

Stumble.
Trip.
Fall.
Bruises.
Scrapes.
Scabs.
Bella had seen them all.
Emmet called it Bella's Big Bad Luck, with a grin.
But to Bella all the pain, ointment, band-aids and trips to the ER,
paled in comparison to the bad luck,
of falling in love with her best friend,
and having to let him go.
-
Running,
Running,
Wet fur,
Cold snow,
Jacob cursed his misfortune.
His soul-mate let him go,
but it didn't compare
to the bad luck of falling in love
with a girl who yearned for death,
and he couldn't change her mind.
He runs on.
