"Oh, this amuses you, does it?" Bella glowered.
Jake walked to her, pulling her up by the hand, a laugh hiding behind pursed lips.
Bella tried to wipe the mud off of her face, but her hands were even muddier, and she wasn’t getting any cleaner that way. She screamed through clenched teeth as she realized she was completely covered in the mud she had so carelessly fallen into.
Jake stepped closer to her, wiping the mud from her lips with his warm fingers. “My darling mud puppy,” he said before pressing his lips to hers.
