So, I am in the process of interviewing again. A couple things are definitely coming through and I've come to an impasse that I don't know how to deal with... Largely in the way of timing ( Read more... )

Take the job and work it while you're waiting to hear from the production company. If they come through, you're very sorry, but you've found a much better opportunity that more closely matches your career goals.

It's not personal, and you've got to make a few bucks while you're waiting.

What if it's only like, a couple days? God, I feel like kind of an ass.

This is pretty much exactly the kind of thing I'm horrible with.

(By the bye! I'm sorry I didn't get back to you about dinner on Sunday! I was ignoring my phone and haven't been checking the one email much, and by the time I realized what was up it was rather late. :/)

Well, even a couple of days at a minimum wage is what? 7.15 * 16 = 114.40 dollars that you didn't have before :)

No problemo about dinner, I figured that you were in hermit mode and would de-hermit when you were ready :)

Indeed... And it's rather higher than minimum wage. My would-be manager is trying to raise it to my requested hourly, which was $14/15 minimum. I do have to pay Allan back. *siiigh*

Hermit mode, fer sure. I'm feelin' rather overwhelmed in general. :/

The great thing about a job you take just for the paycheck is that you don't owe them anything. Take job, quit one week later. Not your problem.

I'm with you...I wouldn't feel good about taking job A while waiting for job C and quitting 2 days later. I'd hold out for the better job and tell job A that you're entertaining an offer from a company that provides benefits...maybe some leverage would come of it.

The interview is on Tuesday, I found out.

It's not so very long... I just, fuck. I suppose I could just tell them that? I don't know. >_< And if I attend that interview and then don't get the job, the whole thing could get even ickier faster.

I'd take the first job that offers. If while you start working, another job closer to your dream comes along the way, you take it.

I worked in a small hearing aid company for about a month and half as an accountant before a CPA firm called me back a few months later with the position I had interviewed before I accepted the hearing aid position.

It happens. It's business. No hard feelings.

Even if it's just two or three days? I do feel it's in bad faith, since I know this other is pending. But if I tell them I'm waiting to see about another, that could be even worse.

The second interview is on Tuesday I found out, so it won't be *too* long.
