Depends on why you move, I'd imagine.
If just for funsies, then probably not. But if it was for school or work... probably?

my life did a complete 180 after spending a few months in new york.

Yes, most certainly. But only if you're open to the change and try hard to make the best of where you are. Where you thinkin' of moving to?

It could give you a chance at a new start.
All three times I've started at a new university, I've treated it as a chance to rebuild myself. I've found that I always reform into the same person, some things a little different, but the main things are constant.
If you're hoping that moving somewhere else will magically fix the problems you're having, take another look at them - if at the root, you're the cause, it will likely manifest itself again wherever you go.
In conclusion, moving is a hassle, but it can be exciting.
I TOTALLY understand the need to get away from it all.
GO FOR IT!
