I can't say that I know you personally, but I have followed parts of your life via LJ and your art for for several years. By the same token, I've felt comfortable enough to let you read my journal and to see my Facebook silliness, so maybe I do know you a little.
All that preface to say, you seem like a well grounded, intelligent, kind, person. Your art is amazing, growing, and evolving. I fully expect to one day brag to people, "Yeah, I knew her back before she was famous. Sure, even before the one woman show in the Guggenheim, I realized Tam Tran was going to be a name in the art world."
Don't let people drag you down. Don't let people crush you. Oddly, the people closest to us (family, friends, lovers, etc.) sometimes seem to do the best job just that. I don't think they usually mean to, but just the same, they can be hurtful. Just keep doing what you do and have confidence that you've got an amazing life ahead of you.

ps. When you're incredibly famous I wouldn't mind an invitation one of your openings. :-)
