Besides, the dashboards of the cars here aren't the right kind for solar baking.

Solar baking? What's that?

Well, you know how warm the inside of a car can feel when it has been out in the sun all day, if the windows have been rolled up? That's because the heat form the sun collects inside.

It's slower than using the oven, because the temperature is not as high, but it can get high enough to bake cookies. We did that in Campfire scouts when I was little. We also made a solar roaster... that might be a fun project, before school starts.

I like chocolate chip. And Snickerdoodles! But those sound really good too.

[ Ilsa smiles and nods, ] Those would work on a really hot day. So talk to the adult that's in charge of your kitchen and ask if you can do that, or have them call me sometime?

[ Ilsa rummages in her purse, and writes a note with her name and address on it. ]
