I'm not fully awake just yet, so when I started reading my thoughts were:
Second panel: "Oh, he's only 17... haha, is he looking to join Leslie's harem of confused young men?" Which also seemed to be Rudd's suspicion, due to his "Aw, Christ."
Fourth panel: "Did he just say he's going to take Derringer's role in Leslie's life? That's all sorts of wrong! He's jailbait and D's brother! What the hell?" Necessitating a proper re-read of the comic.
The second time around it all made much more sense. :) And I love Leslie's little smirk in the last panel, like he's just come to accept these odd moments in his life, and even enjoy them. And D insisting he give Tony a ride, even though Derringer has his pretty car. (Doesn't he? Whatever happened that?)
Also I am thrown by Tony having dark, non-flippy hair. That's the real reason you can't be in the harem, Tony! YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT HAIR!
I meant it in the way that Leslie doesn't like knowing that Derringer has a brother who is seventeen. :) Leslie has enough issues with Derringer being in his late twenties.
(He still has the car, but he's busy helping Kitty nail molding up in the atrium.)
The shanghaied by Pirates section; Derringer doesn't have the flippy hair due to lack of hair style type supplies... yet is still adorable. So the flip is not natural. Sorry to hijack your comment.
