Well, a nice raffle gift could be a gift certificate to a restaurant. I'm not sure what you do at your meetings, so suggestions for making them fun would be hard to put forth. Good luck!
A raffle for a gift certificate sounds like a WONDERFUL idea!
I guess I kinda forgot to mention what we do! We are the wives of Shriner's. (We are the Shrinettes). The goal of our organization is to support our husbands in their efforts to raise money for Shrine hospitals and for the children in those hospitals.
Mostly our meetings consist of: A devotional is read, then roll is taken, the treasurer gives a report, some stands and tells us who needs prayers, and then we close. That's why it's so boring! We need SPUNK!
What about getting 2 Day-Spa gift certificates. One to be raffled off to "non-members", and one to award to the person in the Organization that sells the most tickets (which would eliminate the "buy all the tickets yourself" from happening....they'd all be too busy trying to sell the most to get the certificate for themself). If there are any sponsors of the organization in this line, perhaps asking if they'd donate the certificates in exchange for, I don't know, free advertising, would help. You could use this idea and change what the certificate is for: grocery store certificates, popular department store certificates, hair salon, etc
Our Republican women group usually do a "style show" (I know, dorky title but the lady heading it up is like 900 years old) where we get local clothing shops to donate (new and stylish) clothing (they get free advertising of course) and we charge admission to the show as a fundraiser for us. We models get to wear (and keep) the clothing if we model it (or we can raffle it) and everyone has a good time.
