Avoid AT&T 3G service in Atlanta

Just got off the phone after a 40 minute call with an AT&T rep. They didn't budge one iota. Goddamn Apple won't let them, among other excused offered. I tell them that their 3g network is awful and I get calls dropped all over town and it feels like a 9600 baud modem when it does work. I tell them that I have been un-recommending AT&T service

I have a flip-phone.
It's like 5 years old.
My phone doesn't have e-mail, nor can I download flashy applications.
My phone doesn't play music, and the camera isn't anything spectacular.

But my phone does one thing very well: It allows me to talk to people, doesn't drop me, and is, well, a phone.

iPhone's were dropping calls when switching from 3G to regular/edge before they released an update to them that fixed it. Did you update your phone?

This exact same thing is happening to a friend of mine who is also an At&T customer - since she got an iPhone. So frustrating.

Their pricing plans are crazy too. Texting is either 200 or 1500 - Maybe a little something in between? And the phone plans - 700 min and the next one up is 1400 I think. Nothing in between. Grrrrrr
