I'm remember that was one of many books that I checked out of the library last summer. Holy shit, did it suck BALLS. BIG HAIRY BALLS.

I think I got through one chapter, and then skimmed ahead...the movie was even worse.

In other news, I just finished watching the Reader - it totally makes me feel horrible for not reading actual books. Instead of crappy fanfiction.

I don't even want to come near a movie of that book with a 10 foot pole.
I still haven't seen the Reader, mainly because I feel scarred for life from watching Notes on a Scandal. Just wasn't sure if the older woman/younger man affair was going to be as cringe dnw worthy as seeing Cate Blanchette sex the yound boy. Then with Judy Dench being a creepy ass with Cate I'm avoiding movies with weird sex dynamics till I'm healed lol

I know lots of people would shout me down for this, but I would totally nominate "Wuthering Heights" for "worst book that people consider awesome literature". War and Peace too. they just might not be my style, though... :)

I remember reading War and Peace just to say I had read it. BAD MISTAKE. I remember not being too found of Wuthering Heights either, it was rather tedious.
My disdain for Nathaniel Hawthorne usually gets me the "how could you!" looks from people.

(and I don't really care for Shakespeare lol)

OH MY GOSH seriously, you and I are alike. I TOTALLY tried to read War and Peace, just so I could say I had read it, but I failed. I didn't get past the part where they all evacuate the city and the French are coming (3/4 way through, I think). All of the people were so laaaaaame, and did weird things... and then they killed the only person I half liked, in a stupid manner, so I was like "ef this." and yes - I found wuthering heights annoying as all get out, because REAL PEOPLE DON'T ACT LIKE THAT. and too much emo-ness. :)

lol! I know right! I don't get why people love him so much. I really like his sonnets... but Romeo and Juliet? eww not romantic, just stupid.
