Oh, also.

I shamelessly boosted my own ego by way of Eve, so I am obligated by the Memebargo Act of 2006 to provide the following service here:

Reply to this post, and I will list three things I love about you. Maybe more than three. Then repost to your own journal to spread the love. And now, as Dr. Cox would say: Heeeeeeeeere's ... the kicker -- I'm not ( Read more... )

Or Jordan. Mmmm. Anyway!

Thing Number One I Love About Eve: You are, without a doubt, the single nicest person I have ever met. Now, on the surface, that's a pretty flaccid statement, but let me explain: Not only are you slow to anger and incredibly generous even to those with whom you ARE angry, but it seems like you actively go out of your way to find reasons not to be upset about things, and boy howdy is that something I wish more people (including myself!) would do. There's this unrelenting core of compassion that seems to infuse everything you do, even if, as a Cancer, you are sympathetic but not very helpful. Basically, the world is a more tolerable place for having you in it. On it? Adjacent to it ( ... )

Numero Uno: There aren't too many people in my life with whom I felt instantly comfortable, but you're one of them. From day one, I felt like we understood each other pretty darn well, and if I had some trouble expressing something, you were able to figure out where the hell I was trying to go with it, rather than getting hung up on what I actually said. Plus you picked up on my sense of humor quite handily, and anyone that can roll with my verbal punches is damn fine in my book. Yeah, that's right. I just called you damn fine. Mmmmmhm ( ... )

1) You're the trusty sidekick! This, and a plenitude of other inside jokes/insults have endeared you to me for all time. You seem to bring out the best in the verbal Calvinball that I call social interaction, and I think you've been the cause of more laugh-till-I-cry moments than anyone else on the leaderboard. You made meals at the Carey Dining Commons appealing -- no small feat! -- and I don't think you've ever turned down a game of Monopoly. You keep me sharp, because I know if I slip up, it's going to cost me dearly in our perpetual War of One-Upmanship. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

2) I am in constant awe of your faith. It's not something that was ever very pronounced in me, or in my life, and for the most part, I could take it or leave it. But for you, it seems to be a constant, effortless presence that cannot (and should not) be ignored, and at the same time, I've never gotten the sense that you're trying to convert me. I have, however, gotten the sense that I was being converted anyway, and I mean that in ( ... )
