That said, every Merlin episode ever (I've only watched about six!) goes like this:

I watched the first season of Merlin, and started on the second season, and then threw in the proverbial towel. Every episode is pretty much the same, although the way I'd describe it goes something like:

Gauis: *Tells Merlin not to do something*
Merlin: *Does it anyway*
Morgana: *Is ambiguously evil*
Arthur: *Stands around looking pretty in-between calling Merlin names*
Morgana: "Oh, wait, I'm in this episode?"
Gwen: *Gazes at Arthur and/or Merlin adoringly*
Merlin: *Does magic that he's been told not to do*
Arthur: *Almost catches Merlin at doing magic*
Merlin: *Looks and/or acts in a really stupid way in order to not be caught doing magic*
Morgana: *Stands around brooding a lot*
Gauis: *Smiles fondly at Merlin and shakes his head knowingly*
