Unless I have a nervous breakdown in the next four months and lose a course or something, it looks like in January of 2008 I will be at large in the world with a Bachelor of Arts, honours English. I've been toying with a wide variety of plans all summer, but only in the last couple of weeks have I figured out what I want to do in an immediate sense ( Read more... )

17th century novel, Cantuerbury Tales, Canadian Lit east-west coast, human paleontology, and zooarchaeology. (My minor is anthro) =D. The 17th century and the Tales are required for honours.

OMG Canterbury Tales! Do you have to buy the Riverside Chaucer? I wanted to take it this year at U of T but couldn't fit it into my schedule.

What are you reading for 17th Century Lit? I love geeking out to booklists :D

Nope, no Riverside for me! I'm pleased because I thought I had to, but no, no carrying it around after all! My back is happy.

17thC: Pilgrim's Progress, Love in Excess - Haywood, Roxana - Defoe, Pamela - Richardson, Governess - S. Fielding, Tom Jones - H. Fielding. I'm not really thrilled to be taking it but the list seems like it'll be fine reading.

Of course, I like to geek out over contemporary CanLit booklists... I get to read Eden Robinson's newest, Blood Sports! Whoo! :D

Wow. I still find it so hard to believe that you are graduating and I am still here not even in school. ._______________.
But it sounds like an awesome trip!

April through August, I'll travel and teach ESL in Taiwan and Korea, and also travel in Japan

Most places in Korea require year-long contracts, for the record, though there are summer camps that won't pay for your plane ticket and housing(though they pay very well.)

If you want further information closer to the time, just contact me.

Sweet, thanks!

I know most places (I think anywhere, really) require year-long contracts... I'm planning to look mostly for individual tutoring jobs. I'd love to hear more about those summer camps, though. Anyway I haven't done any research at all yet, this is all planning on spec, so I'll definitely ask you when I have some more concrete questions.
