Why do I still drink when pills are SO much more pleasant and carry far less negative side-effects?

I have been listening to Green Day's American Idiot the last 3 days, practically non-stop. It was a Christmas present and a bit more mainstream than I usually prefer but I have found it to be quite enjoyable. Go figure.

I have become preoccupied with the concept of burning my world to the ground, of basically tearing it all apart, piece by piece, until there is nothing. No harm to others, mind you. Simply my life. Anyone have any interesting ideas for something unusual to do this New Year's Eve? I ususally don't wait this long before deciding, but the time has slipped upon me. What are everyone's plans? Birmingham seems to be holding nothing new. I'm for hopping a train somewhere and making it a rolling party. How about you?

It's something that hasn't happened in a long time! For two nights in a row now, I have had fun. I don't know why I sometimes forget to enjoy what I can of life and pour myself into work instead.
