T-shirts for Freedom...

Today I saw this on snopes.com...

Photographs show placard-bearing Muslim protesters in London.

To quote South Park, regarding the whole Muslim cartoon flap recently...

"Freedom of speech is at stake here, don't you all see? If anything, we should all make cartoons of Mohammad, and show the terrorists and the extremists that we are all united in the belief that every person has a right to say what they want! Look, people, it's been real easy for us to stand up for free speech lately. For the past few decades we haven't had to risk anything to defend it. But those times are going to come! And one of those times is right now. And if we aren't willing to risk what we have, then we just believe in free speech, but we don't defend it!"

To that end, I've gotten off MY end and made something I've been threatening to. Stick Mohammad.

On the one hand, it is a cartoon of Mohammad, which the extremists and terrorists believe there should be NONE of, not even by non-Muslims. Therefore, it is a blow for free speech. On the other hand, it's perfectly modern in that there is no way it's going to insult anyone except hardcore extremists. He doesn't have a bomb, he's not the wrong shade of brown, it's not an inflammatory font, he's not unhappy or angry. Your barber down the block is not going to accuse you of calling all Muslims violent hateful people for wearing it.

It's also easy to draw in public places, if you want to follow the South Park advice of "we should all make cartoons of Mohammad", although I personally am against vandalism.

And if you want to publicly support free speech with this cartoon, you can also purchase shirts of this in white or black, women's sizes available, at my cafepress store...

There are three shirts available, heaped in with the relaxorium merchandise. I've placed the price at only 1$ above cost, in the meagre hopes of maybe selling enough of these to get one free shirt for myself.

This post will remain unlocked and public in case you want to help me support free speech by linking back here.
