Coffee? Yes, oh yes!
I'm not a breakfast person, but that cake had me drooling on the keyboard, even this early.

And it was very nice, too, that chocolate ripple cake!
I had a sliver, and can therefore testify.

(Just back from the farewell party, which started at 4pm, so not a super late night.)

No coffee for me now, but tea, while my toes warm up. It's a cold old night in Melbourne town. :)

It's a chilly morning here, my bare toes are freezing, and this is supposed to be summer!

Maybe when the sun comes out...? I hope it will warm up for you, so you can make the most of your solo time.

It's 11 Celsius here right now, but feels MUCH colder! It's all relative, and I can't help but think that temperatures are just one part of the equation. My feet are encased in mini uggboot-type things, and - still cold! :)

I was all set to beg for a slice of that cake, and then you had to go and mention coconut. ::shudders:: I hope the party was fun, though - or as fun as a farewell party can be. :-(

Oh, sorry! I didn't know you didn't like coconut. :)
But the coconut was very sparse, and just tiny bits in the grated chocolate bar on the top.

The party was good, thank you. And not overly sad, since the friend who is leaving to go and work on the other side of the country will be back and forth, I'm sure. In this age of emails, there is no reason to lose touch!

The cake sounded delicious. Ah yes, and coffee is good at any time.

It is a good one: shall I add it to the pav and lamingtons on the 'to-bring' list? :)

Mmmm, coffee- only instant, it was, but even so...

Hope you had a good weekend, and stayed cosy and warm.

Thud! Sigh! My what a very fine icon you have there ma'am. :)

Is it a truly Australian cake? If so it will be welcomed with open arms & mouths :)

As an aside, msb66 knows of our plans should we win the lottery and I believe that she would also be happy to supervise Richard reading bed time stories. So, we only need to win the lottery and talk to his agent. Minor issues, methinks :)

Excellent! It's almost a done deal, then! :)

No worries, re the cake. I shall add it to the list.

The icon is from angelfish_icons, and depicts Lucas eating doughnuts, I do believe. "I ate the chocolate one- sorry!" (Not that I have watched this all that many times, or anything...)

Yours is rather nice too- the Island premiere in London, perchance?!

Oh indeedy. Count me in! And what an excellent plan it is all round. I approve throughly. (Icon is Mr A reply to your request).

You have a dark chocolate bar that contains cherries and coconut? *faints at the possibility of such goregousness*

Fabulous- all you need to do is think about what to pack! (If only...!)

I have a little parcel to send, so I shall include a sample of said chocolate bar, and hope it doesn't melt before it reaches you, what with all that hot English summer you've been having!

And your icon too, is lovely. And I like the use of the quill pen. (I have one of SB using a quill pen, in Clarissa, *points* which makes me wonder when quills went out of use. Maybe John Thornton wouldn't have such fripperies as 'pens'- if such things existed- when a quill would suffice? Or perhaps pens weren't then invented. More research is needed!) Back to looking at dear John Thornton.
