Drifting on by...

Well, dolphins last time, and now it's the great orangutan escape. Part of me wishes such enterprise was rewarded, instead of which Pulang (for that is her name!) was returned to the apes' enclosure at Perth Zoo. I bet she doesn't think much of that end to her adventure and daring ( Read more... )

I love Pulang! I have a thing for orangs - especially babies ('cos they look so sweet). I bet she will be working on the next route even after the alterations are made...

Glad Dame Helen was good. I think we get occasional New York opera performances at our local cinema. I'm not that into opera, so have never taken much notice. Maybe I should be more observant.

The eatery looks very smart.

Not a French & Saunders fan, nor Harry Potter, but hope you all enjoy the viewings!!

We get the opera too; and the ballet, though I haven't experienced either of those. I picked up a programme for tanuja and tigerbeard. Though I am not an opera buff myself, and woefully ignorant about most things operatic.

(Sadly, the most memorable opera moment for me was a surtitle translation of a line being sung on stage: the translation read- 'Armour may not suit ya, but it's handy when they shoot ya'. Obviously it wasn't a tragedy! And I don't it was Australian irreverence gone mad; it was just funny. And it has stuck, and it's been years!)

I've been enjoying your "Aussie Animal Adventures!"

Love Helen Mirren! No particular reason, just do. (and Jeremy Irons)

We're going to see Harry Potter tonight. Every year that there's been a new one, it comes out close to K's bday, so she consider's it a bday pressie. If J isn't home, the boys will go too. and, on a *funny* note, when James was a baby, the only thing that would quiet and entertain him for, literally, hours, was Harry Potter I!! They actually wore out the vhs tape!!

The simians are running amok! I think there have been several stories recently about apes of various persuasions escaping from their enclosures; and not just in Oz. Here's another one from us, though. :)

Jeremy is in a production of The Merchant of Venice screening here about now, though I haven't found it anywhere as yet. And it was positively exciting to see Helen on stage (albeit on screen!).

Thank you! that was a fun one about the gorilla.
I think Jeremy just keeps looking better as he gets older. (and for somebodoy not much younger, it's one of those 'not fair! men get better, we just get older' kind of things.)

That is one wily orangutan!

I am so envious of your French and Saunders excursion - do let us know how it is; I am sure that it will be fabulous!!! (And yes, Richard Armitage would surely make it the best show ever.)

It was a very impressive feat, I must say. I told my youngest nephew about it, and he thought it was "awesome"! (See gorilla escape in my comment above. I think the apes are trying to tell us something?!)

We have had the F&S tix for a while, and I can feel me getting quite excited about the whole thing now. A good laugh is therapeutic, and we can always do with some of that! Harry would have only been a distraction. :)

Sigh, I love your icon. No, really, it's not an infatuation, I do truly love that icon. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it and was sorry to not be able to go, but next time????

I am looking forwards to F&S, I'm hoping that we laugh as much as we did at Ross Noble. Although, Ross Noble's impression of Beyonce killing a pig will live in my memory for a long time.

Hush, you're not supposed to grass us up about the bunking off from Jhoom, the Jhoom crowd may read this...... ;)

Yes, you must come next time, and even more the time after that, when the play they will be beaming into the cinema will Be Nation (by one Terry Pratchett. I foresee large numbers of tickets being bought for that one.)
