Happy New Year! My first icon was an Aragorn one, too (see above), that the lovely rahirah made for me. I think LotR will always exert a huge influence on me (and many of us, obviously *g*). I did the same TV thing the other day when I was flipping channels. I'm not even sure how many versions I own on DVD, but when I came across it on TV, I just had to watch.

Yes, there's something compelling about it!
Other films will try to latch onto the excitement, but nothing comes close.
