Book club? Volunteering? Any sort of meet-up type groups?

I'm hanging out with two regular groups now, but I guess I wouldn't call them meet-ups. The local disc golf club is one, but I know everyone there already. The woxy clan is another, and the same thing is happening there.
Volunteering is an idea. Not sure how to go about it or whom to approach.

I would simply find something you feel passionate about and call them. Non-profits are *always* looking for volunteers.

we went tot he contemporary art museam last night...find something fun...that is along your interests

Hey, how was that? There were two things I wanted to see last night, and that was one of 'em. I was dead tired from being out Thursday with my woxy buddies. :-(
I've followed my car hobby and disc golf. Car shows are full of old men and rednecks. Disc golf is about 90% male. Music is my other love, but I've mentioned its problems above.
I think I need to take up needlepoint. :D

Have you looked into http://www.meetup.com? It's quite popular around here. While some groups charge a fee, many do not (including the one I'm in).

I'm in a meetup for watching soccer (because I can't play soccer). I have co-workers that are in ones for tennis, bookclubs, and kayaking. Don't know how popular the site is in SW Ohio, though.

I put in the zip code and browsed through some of the groups. I gotta look a little deeper.
