Awesome! I'm seeing the movie (finally) on Tuesday, so I'll listen after that!

Oh! Oh!

My fave? Helen Mirren, hands down.

I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about Dangerous Liaisons. I only saw this movie once, but I think I drooled the whole way through.

I really enjoyed the latest instalment, ladies! I must lack costuming buddies because it's wonderful to hear the words "en fourreau" said out loud... and I have to agree with lorihalia, it's got to be Helen Mirren for me. I can't decide what does it for me more - the whirlwind of emotions she hides or the embroidered necklines we see in the close-ups...

Great stuff! Keep it up!

...and I'm definitely checking back for future episodes, but I get the impression you're a bit worried about repeating costume info that you think your listeners already know. I'm desperate to hear anything you have to say about historical accuracy, and what people wore when, so I wouldn't shy away from that. I don't mind the general chat about whether you liked the movie, etc., and I think the discussions about the director's "vision" are valid, but from my point of view, the more costume facts the better. Thanks!

Good to know! We're not sure how much of our audience is 'old hands' about a movie or an era or costuming in general, so it's really helpful to get this kind of feedback.

I vote for Cate Blanchett, too. Sexy, and largely because she comes across as smart and tough.

As a person relatively uneducated on the finer points of costuming, I'd love it if there was any way that you could synch the audio with some still images of the dresses you're discussing or the source material you're referencing. I think it would really enrich the experience. I'm sure most people know more than I do and so, like harmanhay, would know an en fourreau from their elbow, but perhaps that visual reinforcement would be helpful for many folks. Don't know how easy it would be to do, though.

Also wanted to say that the intro and extro music was lovely.
