Alright... I said I have been working on a story and I have ~ Really, I have. Today is a good day I think to share a little snippet; a very small snippet. I am still working on it so it is not beta'd, but I am getting closer and closer to finishing. BTW... this will be my very first story.

Ah! You made me laugh. And OMG! You aren't kidding. I started this journal the middle of December, already having started two other stories and trying to start a third short story just so that I had something to post on my journal.

Well, that didn't quite work out the way that I planned but - OH, the pressure I placed on myself for putting the cart before the horse - so to speak.

This small snippet is actually part of my third supposedly short story, - though not so short anymore - but I am labeling it my first fic because it will ultimately be my first completed fic *crosses fingers* that I will post to the fandom.

I'm very excited and nervous, as you said you also feel about writing your first fic. But your sweet comment and that of kellie's and myladylyssa's above *God I wish I knew how to do the tags for the LJ names* really makes me feel good about it and gives me encouragement.

So thank you so very much!!! : )

You can do it! Just decide which one you want to finish first and forget about the others for a while. I have three story ideas which I have carried around with me for ages. But then that other idea hit me and I sat down and wrote it. I will get back to my other ideas but I just felt the time wasn't ripe for them yet.

I'm really looking forward to reading more from you -no matter if it is the first, second or third story... I won't be able to tell anyway. *giggles*

I'm so excited that you want to read my fic(s).

It's funny though. About my stories I mean. I seem to be writing all three of them at the same time, sort of. I had a case of writers block... *hehe - that tickles me a little because I'm really not a writer.* ...anyway, I had a case of writers block on the story I am working on now, so I just put it aside and got on a roll on one of my other stories. After a few days or so, I was able to come back to it.

Anyway, that's how it's been working for me. I only hope that everyone will enjoy it in it's entirety. :)

But seriously, thank you so much for your positive words. They really mean a lot to me. I sometimes feel like I'm a little out of my league with this writing thing, but then I tell myself that I'm doing it because I want to do it. I want to give back what this community has given to me, though I freely and truthfully admit, I don't even come close to the wonderful writing that most of you all do. But that's ok... I do this for fun. But I do hope you will like my story when I'm done.

Yay! A snippet of your first fic!! And it's looking v-e-r-y promising too! I think maybe you have the same take on the hobbits as I do -- that they and their lives are, at heart, lighthearted and fun. I hope you won't do the same thing as I did -- I mean, telling the world you are going to write a short ficlet & ending up with 20,000+ words!! (No, wait -- I hope you will do the same!)

Can I just check something out? At the end when Frodo feels himself being pulled away from the stove, is that really happening or still in his imagination? Mmmm, I hope Sam will be giving him that promised hand very soon .. ;-)

Actually, I did start out by telling all that it was supposed to be a short fic but I'm thinking it doesn't qualify for that anymore. At least I don't think it's short anymore.

Also, there is more after that first line that I'm not showing but I figured that everyone could deduce that Frodo was daydreaming while cooking, after reading those last few lines.

And, yes, Frodo has snapped out of that dream.

He felt a sharp pain shoot from his gut to his groin, startling him out of his reverie.

He's out now. Everything after this point - he is aware of.

He let out an audible gasp (the exhaled gasp comes because of the dream but he is still not aware that Sam is behind him until the arms come around) and then sucked it right back in (The inhaled gasp is because of Sam's arms coming around him from behind)

Is it not clear here??? Tell me!

And Ohhhhhhh! Sam is going to be very handy with that hand of his. Mark my words!!! : )

Hi!! Thanks for explaining that more clearly. This is what happens, you see, when you read hobbitsmut whilst you have a terrible head-cold & you have to keep drinking lots of brandy (with honey, lemon & hot water in it, for medicinal reasons only of course!) ;-)

So this isn't a "first-time" fic, and Sam puts his arms around Frodo at the stove in real life (I mean *their* real life, not ours -- sadly). Does this make sense? Probably not .. maybe I just need more brandy? (Oh wait -- I know now that you call it "cognac" over there!) Anyway, I hope they are coming along nicely. No, I meant the fics -- not the hobbits! ;-) *slinks away quietly*
