Hi grapeofdeath : )

*squee* Thank you!

Wow! You must have been reading this while I was posting and editing last night, because after I finished proof-reading - poof! - there popped your comment! : ) I didn't reply last night because I was just too tired. Had a bit of a problem with lj and it took me hours to figure out why it wouldn't post my story in one post. And when I finally figured out that it was referring to too many characters and NOT too many words, 'cause I knew dang well I didn't write a 67,000 word story!!! And, no way, was I going to trim 2000 words off of it!!! Well then, characters and words are two different things now, aren't they? PHEW! I'm such an idiot sometimes ( ... )

Squeeee!! Can't wait to read this! :-) Have just briefly skim-read a little and it looks intriguing. About what you call plow horses -- are they the same as what we call shire-horses here (massive, heavy breed for farm work)? If so, how appropriate! :-)
*hugs*

Hi Lyra : )

I can't wait for you to read it too. I hope you like it.

Yes, the plow horse sounds very similar to what you call shire-horses. Here, we call them Draft Horses. There's a farmer up the road from me who still uses draft horses to plow his little plot of land (about 4 or 5 acres, I'd say). Those horses are HUGE! Probably in the same family as the Clydesdale, maybe? I can't believe how massive that breed of horse is!!! The Budweiser Clydesdale's were brought to a city close to me several years back and I took my kids to see them. I couldn't get over how big their hooves were. It was unbelievable! And they looked like they were wearing big, fuzzy-white boots. They were so cute! Oh, but they are so beautiful and elegant for their size!!! Have you ever seen them?

Hi Lyra : )

OMG! You picked out my favorite lines in the whole story! : D

And Yes, yes! I wanted the readers to wonder where the heck they were going and what the heck they were going to do when they got there. Ooh, I'm so glad it worked!

I'm glad you liked the idea of the corn maze. That is the experience I was telling you about. I took my children to one for their 9th birthday, I think it was, and we had an absolute blast! We went around 9pm at night, took a long wagon ride to the field itself and walked through the maze, with flashlights. It was just the most fun I'd had in a long time.

I actually have a picture of one, that I used for my story, though I made alterations to it for story purposes. For instance, in my story, the cornfield has already started to turn brown, as was the one that I went through, and I altered some of the paths to suit me - but it is very similar to the one that I went through, only the one I went through was two horses, side-by-side, in full harness. A bit more difficult, I think. We actually couldn' ( ... )

Mmm...Halloween smut. What an excellent and creative use for a corn maze! I really liked how suddenly the first kiss happened- I could just imagine Sam acting on his instinct for what would best comfort a panicky Frodo, and finding himself kissing him before he even really knew it.

Hi Melandry : )

Thank you so much for reading and for your wonderfully kind words!

The corn maze idea actually came from a real experience I had only... darn! I didn't run in to any hobbits when I was going through it. ; ) I also went through it at night time but we had flashlights. And it was very spooky, but also an absolute blast! Worth trying, if you've never done it.

And, yes, exactly! The sudden, spontaneous kiss was the only way I saw to get them together (and keep it real). Thanks again for reading and commenting : )

*bibble* Oh, just lovely! I knew Merry wasn't that stupid. *snort* And he could have gone about it in a better way but damn, it sure worked, didn't it?

Poor Frodo. *pets him* But you know, he is one to keep those bad experiences with him, isn't he? And to try not to allow them to interfere but they somehow do anyway. Poor sod. Lucky for us all that he has Sam to demonstrate the best way to get over it and WHOA! what a way to do it. Go, Sam!

Now, I must be sure to say that, aside from the hot sex (hot!! sex), you have given us a glimpse into a love that's very deep, very REAL and very giving on both sides and that's not always a given when there's sex involved. Very nicely done, love. I enjoyed this very much.

*heehee* Merry's a sly one, isn't he?

LOL! My god,you don't know how many times, when I was writing this, that I just wanted Merry to scream, "COME ON, Frodo, work with me here!" : D

Lucky for us all that he has Sam to demonstrate the best way to get over it and WHOA! what a way to do it. Go, Sam!

*giggle-snort* Yeah, well, not a whole lot of devices to work with when you're lost in the middle of a cornfield at night, huh?

I'm glad you thought it was hot!!, that is was REAL, and that you enjoyed it, Carole. Thank you so, so much!!! : )
