I wonder why we associate specific colors with moods. Is it some sort of natural association with what makes us happy or sad? Are blue and cooler colors "sad" because they remind us of overcast days and water and rain and cold? And do we think yellow and warmer colors are "happy" because they remind us of LIFE GIVING sunlight ( Read more... )

It is just association... We were raised to cry when someone dies, we were raised to think that when something is less (bright, or minor) it is not 100%, therefore it is sad.

I have always wondered "The colors I see... is it the same "color" as other people see?"

I mean, me and you can point at something blue... identify it is the color blue... and feel "cooled" by it. But, are we seeing the same thing?

If a child is raised thinking Cake is a bad thing, they will hate cake. But, parents give it to them on birthdays. Association: cake = good and fun. You are not allowed to get the cake unless you eat your vegetables. Association: vegetables = obstacle = bad.

Did I go off into another world here? Or, are you still with me?
