OOC: Is this goodbye . . .?

((I wrestled with posting this for a long while now, but I dunno. I'm thinking of dropping out of the MESPT game. I'm not enjoying it anymore. I usually skip most every post and only read a very few. None of my puppets have anything to do and all the storylines that crop up are either uninteresting or over before I get to them [or I can't keep ( Read more... )

Shit. BUT WE'LL MISS YOU!!!!!!! hakamiah June 6 2002, 22:09:36 UTC
Yeah, I figured you might leave, given the way you've been talking recently. I totally understand if you've lost interest; I feel that way too at times.

But! O Van! You're funny and wonderful, and we're family, dammit!!! And I--for one--will miss you particularly sorely. :(

I wish you would stay, but I know you can't help it if you don't enjoy it anymore. And if you don't, you should go find something else fun to do. :)

So. FINE! GO! Run along and break all our hearts, you cold little bitch!1!242f *sobs*

Love you.

Van, when I read that... you know, it kinda struck a chord within me, too. I pretty much think spending all my time here sucked my muses away... I'm sure you remember when we first started talking on AIM (wow, *that* was a long time ago... my computer hadn't eaten it yet) that I was writing all the time. Probably one story a day! I'm also sure you've noticed since I joined what a decline there's been in my writing... to the point where I can't even wind up to write any more Brandywine, the one story that, when I first started, I was so *proud* of, and aching to write more and more! I haven't been Liz for a long time now, and haven't checked my reviews, for what, probably two months. At least since the day after I posted up the first chapter of Brandywine ( ... )

((Um. I suppose I'm going to echo most of what's been said here already. Your characters and plotlines are all brilliant and have been some of the absolute best stuff to come out of this game, and we'd all really, really hate to see you go. However, if you're not having fun and it's starting to become a drain on you, I can completely understand. (You know that's how I was feeling last week, and, ironically, you helped me to feel better. *frowns*) Um, perhaps you could just take a little break for a week, walk away and then see if you feel the same way?))

I'll say this: I can understand the disillusionment. At this point I am struggling to return to the MESPT scene, after a big funk, and I know it's hard as hell. I want you to know that if you do leave, I will miss you and your puppets immensely. Some of my fondest moments and memories were of inter(e)acting with your chars.

Also, just FYI, you are the reason I'm here in the first place. I stumbled across Frodo G's journal way early on, and read an angsty conversation between him and Faramir. I immediatly fell in love with this place, because of you.

Like Zlot said, don't stay if it's not fun. But if you do go, I will consider it the greatest loss this place has seen since its inception.
