3. Seen a koala. (Had a koala randomly climb down a tree and wander over to me and climb up me for a cuddle. Ok, so it was at Taronga Zoo in the Education centre and I was cleaning the enclosure - it was hand reared but still - koala cuddles!)

5. Watched a summer thunderstorm

7. Been to Uluru (Ayer's Rock).

12. Visited Sydney (Well, I grew up there, but since I now live in Canberra, going back to Sydney really is "visiting")
13. Have seen a shark (Have swum with a shark... in an Oceanarium, while it wasn't active)

15. Had an actual conversation with an indigenous Australian (aboriginal).
16. Eaten hot chips from the bag at the beach
17. Walked/climbed over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.(I've walked across it, but not climbed it)

20. Slept on an overnight train or bus (It is my intention on my way to Beach trip - what a 4am change to a bus at Albury will do in terms of my plans, we'll have to wait and see)

68. Surfed at Bondi (Learning to surf was the special activity on Friday afternoons for those of us in Year Ten not judged responsible/influential enough to lead peer support groups - I suck at surfing, don't want to try it somewhere where people would care that I suck)

Have woken to the smell of bushfires (not so mmm - I have bad memories of when I was eight and the 1994 bushfires in Sydney brought the bushfires directly across the road from us - the fire passed us, fireballed in fact - with a boom! while my sister and I were home alone - Mum was on her way back from dropping my brother at a friend's place and Dad was stuck trying to return from work. When it's just you and your 11 year old sister at home, being dragged out the front of your house to see flames high above the houses on the other side of the street is pretty damn frightening. I couldn't stand the sound of sirens at night for years to come and the smell of bushfires takes me back)
