How much can you love someone without feeling attached in a way that makes you somewhat emotionally needy?

I think it's pretty much next to impossible to be in a relationship with someone and not be emotionally needy, at least to an extent. That's what relationships are about, give and take - and sometimes you're gonna want to take more than give, lol. Which I think is perfectly okay, as long as you have a good balance between what you want to give and what you want to take, and as long as the other person is also balanced. I think it really only becomes a problem if one person is constantly wanting to take all the time - or if one person always wants to give, that can be bad, too. Even if it's compatible (person A is always giving, person B is always taking), I still don't think that's healthy. There has to be both.

Is it possible to love someone so much that you don't feel hurt when they don't love you back?Yes. It's hard as hell to get to that point, but it is possible. And hell, if I - one of the most spoiled, selfish ( ... )

It may be "next to impossible to be in a relationship with someone and not be emotionally needy, at least to an extent" but that is not the same as impossible. (soft smile)

Like I said, the "most real" is the love that is so strong you love even if they don't love you back. But that is close to impossible for most people.... Still, it is not only possible, but it is admirable and a worthy goal. That does not make it easy.

I still want to kick Ian's ass for not giving me his updated contact information. Does anyone know where I can find Ian McGill? I want to kick his ass. LOL
