So I make an extra effort this morning to get to work early only to be thwarted by my sick little and by late running buses. And to top it off the grumpy old man who harassed me (I'll have to explaing about that later) is on the bus again giving me the evil eye. So even though I was trying to get to work an hour early I was 8 minutes early ( Read more... )

The plaza is a must, I think you go to tourist hell if you don't visit there ;)

Everything else depends on how much you're willing to drive. Cibola and Santa Fe National forests are a quick drive and lot's of fun trails and exploring if you want to play outside. Trail maps and closure info are found at http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/cibola/ and http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/sfe/ respecitvely.

But I'm a 'Burque girl so I'm not too familiar with what else there is to in Santa Fe, Try http://santafe.org or http://www.newmexico.org

When in doubt there are always the casinos. ;)

There's way more to do in Albuquerque, especially if you have Olivia in tow. And I think on average the hotels are cheaper.

Let me know what you're planning on doing and I can try and find you some event calendars and stuff.

LOL, sorry, that's just amusing.

There are Mountians in 'burque, the Sandias make up the entire east side of town and are part of Cibola National forest. The La Luz trail is very popular with hikers and bikers, but it's really long (it starts in the foothills and winds up the mountian all the way to the peak and comes out near the tram).

Then there's also the Mesa's on the west side with tons and tons of bike trails around the petroglyphs.

Are you coming in via I-40 or I-10? I-40 is much more senic in my opinion and brings you striaght to Albuquerque through the Sandias and Manzano Mountians. Either way you'll be spending a lot of time on I-25.
