So anyways, because I am a sad fannish type, tonight I went to see 'The Clinic' (aka Australia Doesn't Really Need That Pesky Tourist Industry vol 47) at the MIFF. This would be despite a) not much of a horror fan and b) concept/trailer that reeked of women in fridges. But... I liked it, a lot more than I was expecting to. Especially the *spoilery ( Read more... )

I didn't *meet* her (you'd probably have been able to hear my squee if I had), but she was there because the movie (she's the lead) was all world premierey, and riiiiight before they started letting us general admission plebs (I was right at the front of the queue due too getting there ridic early) into the cinema I noticed she was standing maybe six-seven metres away with some of the other movie peeps looking all excited and nervous and y'know completely gorgeous. Then I did my best not to stare like a creeper. I think I succeeded.

I also passed right next to her as I was leaving the cinema, but she had her back to me and I was too gutless to go up to try and talk to her. Plus I had to get to Parliament before my train left, but mostly it was the gutlessness.

You were right next to her! Man, I would have passed out. Or squealed. Or done something equally inappropriate.

All the crew/miff guys around her made it kind of intimidating!

I think that if she hadn't had her back to me and been very obviously talking to someone else when I passed her as I was leaving I *might* have been to suck it up long enough to try and stammer out something along the lines of thinking she's an awesome actress and I really enjoyed the film before fleeing. Except I totally wouldn't have because I am totes teh suck.

Ahahaha, it was totally the fiance question, because I really *did* like what they did with him. I loved that the answer was pretty much 'We wanted to focus on the women and Beth being her own damn hero.' It made me really want to see the film they talked about making next if/when they get it made (espec. if they're smart enough to cast Tab again).

Duuude...awesome. Was she nice?

He really, really was. I didn't even miss him until the part where you totally expect him to show up in cliched fashion...and he doesn't and Beth gets back to saving herself. :D

*reads your post but replies here because tiny phone internets are teh crappy*

It sounds like she was totally adorable. I'm totes jealous. Also, depending on how high up the stairs you were I think we were actually fairly close to each other in the line. I was the girl on the top step in the red shirt and waistcoat.
