Didn't I Do This Already?

I. Once upon a time, when Frog was twenty two and stupid, she had a job that she sort of loved and sort of hated. Then when she was twenty three she found out she was working for truly heinous people, and it broke her heart. So she quit, went on a really long road trip, and landed in a Small Town where she lived happily ever after ( Read more... )

ooooh... so tempting!! i think by the summer i will have no money left for extra workshops, but o! fun! you should tell me all about it. i am hoping to spend several weeks at the farm, which i think will also be good for writing, and very good for learning more about growing...

thanks for the hugs... :)

Aww, honey! People aren't nice. They aren't evil, either. Sometimes they do nice things, and sometimes they do evil things. The trick is to align with them when they're being nice and NOT align with them when they're being evil, but you can't avoid evil people entirely because they happen to be the exact same people.

I'm not sure this pertains, but my mother-in-law got a Lifetime Distinguished Service Award last summer at a big To Do. In her speech she pointed out that she'd been very lucky to work with nice people her whole career. I listened to her talk and realized she didn't know something HUGE. It wasn't that people HAPPENED to be nice, it's that they ACTED nice when they were around her. She brought that out in people. She acted so nice, they strove to live up to the standard she was setting. She was oblivious to her role in this dynamic!

This? Is excellent advice.

The real question is whether the work itself, and the way the people are behaving to you, is making you miserable. It sounds like there's a story here, and I don't know it. But there are ups and downs in any career and any job, and sometimes riding it out for the sake of the ups in the rest of your life is the way to go.

Time to stop crying now Schmoopies, even though that's really important too! And you need to talk to a certain someone--I remain convinced that you don't really have all the facts...set up time to talk, it will make you feel better, I promise.

Loves you! See you in a few weeks!
