OK, so this weekend I took Joe (my little brother) and my boyfriend to the FX show. It was cool, except for the part where it took place at the fair grounds. The entire show was held in the livestock pavilion? (could we not find a nicer place anywhere in Orlando ( Read more... )

The pavillion wasn't bad. The show used to be held at the expo center until UCF bought it and turned it into a digital media school. There are very few places in orlando big enough to hold a convention of FX's size, a hotel couldn't do it, and the convention center, I'd imagine is just too expensive. They could have put it in the convention center, they had the money I'm sure. But they would have had to nix some of the guests, Alan and summer in particular carry a rather heavy price tag for their time. You also would have had to pay more for admission and pay for parking and probably pay more for stuff in the show because dealers would have to raise their prices to cover the raised cost of renting space ( ... )

I actually asked the ticket person if I could just get a picture, she said even just a picture with them was $25

What?????

Um. Wow. I don't want to say that "shouldn't" have happened, because maybe there was something going on that I didn't know about (contracts and stuff) but most of the other guests wern't working that way.

I would like to get together, the only problem is finding time. If you want, I know I am going to Megacon. You could always come with. By the way, I have some Harry Potter pillows if you want them.
