I bet Rove gets off scott free.

Notice Bush reworded his promise. Before it was "I'll fire anybody who leaked this info!" now it's "I'll fire anybody who committed a crime in leaking that info!"

Why do I say this? Because they're arguing that it's not technically illegal to have leaked her name since she wasn't on active duty at the time of the leak, no matter if it ruined her cover for any future assignments they would have wanted to use her on.

So... it'll come out that Rove is a fuckstick who leaked her name, but didn't technically break any laws, and so stays in office.

Politicians suck.

I can't express in words the joy I feel over seeing people who defended Clinton's ridiculous "It depends on what 'is' is" logic turn around and demand Bush's head over similar parsing.

It's more than "not techically illegal". It's perfectly legal. The law is clear as a bell.

It's just hardball politics, and both sides are playing the same game.
