From the outsider's perspective, I think you would be ideally suited for counseling. I also think that you could go into a type of counseling that does not require dealing with the mentally ill. Sometimes people just need someone to listen. I don't know if you have considered guidance counseling, but it is kind of a combination of teacher and counselor.
I will say that you may not want to put much thought into nursing unless you've developed a love of math, science, children, and old people in the three short months since we lived together.
You could always get a masters or doctorate in sociology and teach the subject in college. I think you would like that kind of teaching.
You have a lot of skills and talent and an amazing work ethic. It will eventually pay off.
God may be trying to tell you something. You probably won't know until the trial is passed.
