ATTN: END OF THE WORLD IN 2012

Apr 05, 2006 04:57

Erin mentioned this to me last night and now I can't stop thinking about it so, I was just wondering, is it true? Is there an asteroid or meteor or comet headed to earth to destroy us in 6 years? If so, when would this 'deathstar' be visbile? Would our government tell us about it if it where to be happening? If they already knew? Is there a defence ( Read more... )

If this was a 'death star' then I wouldn't wrap your head around it too much. There probably ain't shit we could do about it then. But man, that's kinda depressing this early in the morning.

I think the weather has been like this so much, becasue we've had so many years of not that much rain and it's all balancing out....or were FUCKED.

you can write a comic about it.. :P

ok, first, the world is billions of years old. it goes in cycles. long ones. sure we are messing up the environment, too, but its only enough for the world to change drastically, not dissappear. as far as this death star idea, if it actually existed im sure you could find evidence somewhere other than the internet. where did this information come from? alos, the earth has been hit by meteors before (think dinosaurs) it just depends how big the impact is, i guess. but i wouldn't worry about it. oh...and if it was big enough to wipe out the entire planet it would already be visible. especially if it is carrying enough energy to reach us in such a short time.

oh yeah...and there are all kinds of things that are supposed to happen in 2012. mostly just "prophecy" and theories so i guess it depends on what you believe in.

the mayan calander predicts a final winter solstice in Dec. 21st 2012 so, weird weather is to be expected 5 years before or after... weird. they predicted this shit so fucking long ago....

yeah, but its heavily based on planetary movement. the theory is that it ends on 12/21/12 is b/c the blanets and the sun will eclipse eachother. it takes ages for that kind of thing to happen...who knows if its happened in human history. to the mayans that occurence was sacred so i guess thats why it ends there. doesn't mean its a final solstice.

the mayan calendar dictates the end of time in 2012

well, to be more accurate (i stayed up all night reading about this so, i'm just regurgitating what i found) the Mayan calendar (the long calendar) predicts a winter solstice in Dec21, 2012. they predict strange weather either 5 years before or after the solstice and i think you've seen the news enough to know that some of this is true... as far as it being the end of time... i dont know. strange weather and massive changes, soon! maybe it's just the end of the world as we know it.

change is good!
