It sounds like you've had a really tough time and I imagine it's difficult knowing what to say as you come back to LJ again after so long (I always feel tongue-tied if I go for more than a week or so without posting!) but this was great to read. I'm sorry about the loss of your mother, too. It's so hard to lose a loved one. Sometimes the pain is just impossible to bear.
Yes, our fandoms come and go like a tide, sweeping in and out. Doesn't mean it's completely gone ... just not quite what it was. Still, we are all so much bigger than our fandoms, yes?

Thanks, Kay!! I've been struggling with wanting to come back for several weeks but not finding the time or knowing what to say - today it just kind of flowed out. I'm looking forward with reconnecting with my flist - and hopefully on al more personal level and not just as fans. I'm glad you enjoyed the LOL cats - they do give me a lift when I'm down!!

Oh, SO good to see you posting. I saw that you commented and left me a purdy-profile-pressie and literally clapped with joy. :D *big hugs* Don't pressure yourself on *any* level when it coems to us. If someone says, "The only way I'm staying friended to you is if you type the word 'Elijah' at least 45 times per post!", give me their username, IP addy and RL addy if you know it, and I'll go have a teeny-tiny 'chat' with them. ;)
But oh, god... I had let my best friend D. use a credit card I had and he left me with quite a bill. I had also given him some money using another card. Total of about $10,000. He intended to pay me back but it doesn't seem like things are working out for him so I'm kind of stuck making the payments. Not to be nosy, but is this the one you were telling me about in NYC? Jesus Christ, hon... I'd start looking into some kind of debt-relief program. This is not, not, not fair. No matter what the situation is, I don't care--if I have no way to pay back THAT KIND of money to someone, I can't take it. It's hard

Hi Honey!! I'm glad you got your pressie. I know people like you aren't going to defriend me - but there are some that friended me when I used to do a lot of picture posts related to Elijah or fandom. So if some of them want to defriend me it's no big deal.
Yeah - it's the same one I was telling you about. I know he feels awful about it and is very depressed - he may even be suicidal over everything. When he gets depressed he isolates himself. There is really nothing I can do but soldier on and do what I have to do to get the debt paid off. At least I'm not tempted to spend money on Elijah stuff!!
It would be fun to get together and do something cheap but fun. Love you too!! Have got to get back into reading your fics!! &hearts

Don't worry about not being squeeful over Elijah any more. Many folk have kept LotR in their hearts but moved their passion somewhere else. Some other folk are "lying fallow" for a while and may find something later... or not.
Hi GH!! I really do need my LJ friends and have missed you guys so much. I'm so glad I have the energy to try to post and comment again. It does seem like a lot of people have moved onto other fandoms. I'm still in the same ones as far as fic goes. Life moves on!!
