Was this made in the US or UK? If it's from the UK, Europe uses the PAL format and it would have to be played on multi-region or region-free VCR. Or maybe you already know this. I didn't know OM had been released on tape anywhere. Most movies no longer are.
Ahh, I see. I had no idea it was ever shown on Pay-per-View or I'd have recorded it, too. I gave up on it ever being released in the US and ordered the DVD from the UK. I still don't understand why it was never released here, either in theaters or at least on DVD. Bummer!
It came out on Pay Per View in late July or early August - can't remember exactly. It may still be on Pay per View. It is getting a release in the US - but a limited one. I can't remember when - it may even be out now.
Elijah was pretty to look at but it wasn't one of my favorite movies of his. It's gotten pretty bad reviews and I have to agree with a lot of what the critics have panned it for. It was fun to see the scene where so many of my flist friends got to be extras in the movie though!!
I'm sure it will come out here on DVD so you'll still have a chance to see it - *hugs*
Wow! Some of the flist got to be extras??? this sounds like my idea of heaven
Wouldn't that be so cool? Several of the LJers that live in Europe go to be extras when they filmed a scene at Oxford - John Hurt's character was playing a professor giving a lecture and they got to be students listening to the lecture - along with Elijah. Some even got to sit very close to him!! Many of them posted pics and accounts of their experiences. And it was so fun to see that scene and be able to see them in that crowd!! And when THEY finally got to see the movie - what a thrill to see themselves on screen!! *hugs*
Missed this comment somehow!! Thanks Stef - I'm just glad that something I knew I wouldn't be watching again can bring someone else some joy!! I'll probably eventually buy the DVD if I can get it cheap and on sale - I do want to have the movie that made you and so many on my flist stars!! *BIG HUGS*
