I got discharged from the Alfred Hospital today after a week of constant fevers, blood tests, bad hospital food and doctors ummming and ahhhing. Turns out I have glandular fever. I don't know of anyone else who has ever been admitted to hospital for glandular fever before, and I didn't realise it could take doctors up to 7 days to actually diagnose ( Read more... )

well, carp! 7 days does seem like an inordinately long time to take to diagnose glandular fever. i hope the hospital didn't put too much fructose into you. i hope you start feeling better soon.

Well, My tummy has been acting up too. Bad timing. I need to get onto the Gastro Team at Box Hill and ask them what to do. I'm a bit worried about the combination of a Crohn's fare-up and Glandular Fever. I'm down to 62 Kgs, which is a bit of a concern.

yeah, that does sound rather worrisome! i guess it's really hard to disentangle it all and know what symptoms are caused by what...
good luck getting onto Box Hill doctors.

Could be worse, when I first caught it I was bed-bound for three months, led to my chronic fatigue! Get better soon

Well, I think my fevers have finally decided to cease, which is good. I'm hoping for a quick recovery... Chronic Fatigue is not something I would wish upon anyone, and I definitely want to be back on my feet and not feeling exhausted for the next 6 months.
