On a poster in the residence administration, it says (paraphrased):

Things are not always what they seem.

The majority of UNB students (57%) have 1 to 4 drinks or don't drink at all at bars and parties.

So 43% of UNB students have four or more drinks when they go to bars and parties? Not so comforting, residence people.

If that's their new marketing campaign, I suspect the university could be in for some serious drop-offs in terms of applicants quite shortly.

It depends on whether it's the students or the parents making the decision...

Also, 1-4 drinks is still a pretty wide range. If I drank 4 pints, I'd be very drunk.

So really what they're saying is, things are exactly as they seem.

My thoughts precisely. I am thoroughly unsurprised by this statistic.

Do they recycle these posters from school to school? The exact same posters were up at UMD a few years ago.

If their data is anything like what my undergrad used in their similar anti-binge drinking campaign, it's totally worthless anyway. They only surveyed freshmen in the required health & wellness course--yeah, I'm sure THOSE results weren't totally biased.
