So it's pretty much inevitable. There's no way that I'm going to get to go to any college that I really want to. A lot of my friends say that, but my family seriously has very little money, just nobody knows it

So the college money thing: you'd be surprised what kinds of scholorships and grants are out there. I always thought I could never afford college and now TCC is giving me almost $3,000 a semester. I don't really know anything about your family situation, but there are definetly ways to make your college dreams happen. It just takes lots of research and choosing colleges that give lots of aid and scholorships. Eirik is getting a full ride at Suffolk for academics. I'm sure you have grades at least as good as his if not better. Maybe you won't go to NYU or Brown, but there are tons of colleges out there that aren't FSU that you could end up at. There's no doubt in my mind that you will go to a college that you love

gilchrist will sometimes hire high school seniors for afterschool, especially dct people. i know you're probably not doing dct, but its still worth a shot. besides, i'm pretty sure we need people. and you would probably make a lot more than most people your age.
...so why are you complaining?

you are basically guaranteed with a college education in the state of florida, be it from your dream school or not. you should be glad that you have the oppurtunity to learn in a safe country in a world that is so unstable today. there are millions of women, and men, who would die for what you have.
you gripe about being handed a mere$100 per month? there are people who will never make the equivelant of $100 in their entire lives. your situation is a whole lot better than millions of people's. maybe you can take a job in a third world country, teaching starving and impoverished people how to read, to make more money so you can afford expensive clothes.
"No problems are bigger than your own, because they are yours alone."
And I'm sure, mr. anonymous, You've had your times of complaint, of feeling everything you do won't suffice, just as she has.
And, mr. anonymous, why settle for a mediocre education from this state? You speak of people who have it worse off than she does, what if those people settled for a mediocre standard of living, would they ever get anywhere?
people get discouraged sometimes, like the poster above happened to be.
it's easy to be compassionate for the worse off that are in other countries, but try being compassionate for someone you apparently used to know.
sorry for butting in on this situation, I don't mean to defend her, she is quite capable of that herself, I only mean to provide some useful words.

that I do dream of helping people learn and express themselves
that I am grateful for what I have, like I believe I stated.
If you don't know me anymore, why invade my corner of the web?
At least have the courage to sign your own opinions.
