Huh. I'm not vegan, but vegetarian for 13 years. Suits me fine!

i'm certainly not saying that it doesnt work for some people, i'm just begining to think i'm not one of the people it works for. I've been vegan for probably 4 years or so, and i dont remember if i felt different before hand, but i know that right now i am really short on energy and tend to be tired most of the time. so yeah, that needs to change...i'm not actually sure what i'm going to do as of yet.

Try one thing: Get some extra vitamin B. Vegans tend to be short. A quick way to tell: get some Knudsen's VitaJuice. If you feel perky after a cup, you've probably nailed your problem.

I think it could be a really good change. Do you plan to still be vegetarian, or change from that as well?

no, actually, since i'm lactose intollerant, i would just be adding meat to my diet. but ONLY organic free range meat. though i'm only considering this for health reasons...the thought of meat still kind of repulses me from the way i've been conditioning myself.

i'm extremely torn.

OOoohh, I would be torn too. I didn't realize you were lactose intolerant. Humm... maybe experiment with extra variety in your meals, and planning so you get all the nutrience you need. If you feel so inclined you could see your doctor or a nutritionist. I would just read a ton of stuff and check out the library for some vegan cookbooks that have good intro sections and vegan food pyramids & such to refresh. But over all else, be good to yourself. If your body needs it, check out local free range organic farms. Could you go to the farm so you see and know that the animals are raised as animals and not as food? Would that help you feel better about it? Think about the circle of life, and how native americans ate meat, but with respect for the animal. Good luck.

hey now wait--i never said vegans didnt eat real food!! we eat real food! its just that most of it consists of tofu...and lettuce....no, really though. vegans have worlds of possibilities...with the exception of flesh and dairy (which, in concept, is disturbingly gross anyway...) so. yeah. did i have a point? oh--yes. vegans eat real food. definately.
