bet you’re gonna lose it to that hellbound crimson glory

private, off network ][
15 weeks. All the research into past Network posts yields no hint at voluntary exit from the City; and those that seem to exit still can return.

Tony's deteriorating. Physically, he is having no problems. Mental evaluation shows depression, reckless drinking as expected, but he hasn't delved into behavior I predicted to come after that. Iron Man has been surprisingly inactive; perhaps delayed. His depression may be worse than I first calculated, will observe over the next week whether he strives to gain attention from the public here. Confided in me easily, as if he'd forgotten my position or simply stopped caring.

My own mental state is holding up, though not entirely well, to the ticking. Moments at work have become reprieve, but the benefit of company has lessened as time goes on and I live alone. However, I will continue living as such in order to find a limit, whether my own or a general standard. The translation project I've acquired has helped my focus, but it's better worked on in my office, to hold off distraction.

Perhaps the City would benefit from some form of SHIELD's existence...

public ][
It's a very interesting situation we find ourselves in upon entry to the City. It seems as though we operate under a governance of implicit, or unspoken rule. An overshadowing fear of deity intervention dictates how many of the people here act, and while there are recorded outbursts and murders the City still doesn't fall into chaos. Perhaps the existence of both citizens of great strength and deities keeps those of us without extra abilities in line? I've yet to find a community charter or anything resembling a set of laws voted on and adhered to by citizens which is surprising given the vast array of intelligent and driven beings found here. I have seen mention of guilds and other organizations that have taken it upon themselves to make the safety of the City their duty, but no official to guide the masses, no one set to speak with the deities on behalf of the rest of us.

Is it the Network? The minimal size of the City and ease of access to speak with anyone who uses it frequently? Perhaps the sense that nothing here is permanent, therefore nothing here has purpose influences our perception that it's useless to try. And yet, I could look at the Network now and see pleas for help, positive messages about something personal, maybe a person asking another to join them for a meal, or even a crime in process. Curse reactions, curses in progress, people asking about if there is a curse. And others will respond, some indifferent sure but many take it upon themselves to see to it that the others in the City are heard, get help or make a friend.

But never any central organization to any aspect of the City. It's very interesting.

blastiafreak, I have a hard copy of the Russian pieces ready for you to look over; if you'd like I can leave them with the front desk at City Solutions or have them delivered by courier. Anyone else working on her notes, it might benefit us to determine who is best suited for which sections. I'm able to take care of the Latin, French, German, or Mandarin unless any of you are more inclined to take any of them upon yourselves.

action (open), after sundown ][
[There is a black-clad figure lurking outside the deity's office building. It doesn't approach, but as the night moves on, it circumnavigates as best as possible from the ground. Making notes, taking pictures -- it is definitely interested in more than the building's aesthetics.]
