concerning: Angelique Bouchard, guest-starring Dean Winchester
319. words; complete.
She's fussing with her appearance in the mirror when she looks down at the clock and realizes that there're only five minutes left until he's supposed to be there. She bites her lip and tries to fix her makeup, but she only has a rough idea of what she's doing. She sighs and again, she trails her eyes down to the clock for what's probably the hundredth time that night. Secretly, Angelique hopes that Dean is running late. It's impolite, and for all intents and purposes he should be knocking at her door at seven o'clock sharp as it would be polite to do, but the later he gets there, the later she can wait to tell him. But she knows that the anticipation will tear her apart more than anything.
She has to tell him. She knows this. It was a mistake she made with Barnabas, and even though she knows it wouldn't have changed anything with him, she's promised herself that she won't make the same mistakes with Dean.
She knows how he'll take it. Dean hates witches; he'll hate her and she doesn't know how she'll be able to cope with that - the one man who makes her feel even close to the way that Barnabas had, and that's the reason that she's praying that her makeup is good enough and that with her blue eyes and blonde curls falling below her shoulders, he won't be able to be too harsh with her.
Seven o'clock comes and so does the knock on her door. Angelique straightens her dress and fusses with her hair one last time before she steadies herself and answers it. Dean gives her a once-over and there's probably a suggestive remark on the tip of his tongue, but if he makes it, she doesn't hear it. Just one look at him and she knows that she can't tell him. She can't take it. Not tonight.
