is right! I hope everything turns out alright. We NEVER give our pets anything except their IAM's. Except once in a while I will give the cats the drained water from the tuna can. We used to give Jetti pot roast bones, but they always give her the runs so no more of that!
Yeah, we felt SO bad, he looked miserable and seemed to be in a lot of pain. Thankfully, the vet was able to give him an IV to hydrate him, antibiotics and he is looking and feeling much better. It's a good rule, no human food.
Funny you made a comment regarding " ...tails up." One of the things I noticed, aside from the gallons of diarrhea covering my carpet and couches, was that his usual curled tail was limp and straight. The vet even commented on his lack of "pug tail." :(
I know the same goes for salmon and dogs. Salmon carry these little parasites (when raw) that can hurt dogs, even kill them. I guess it's not a big deal to humans but we almost lost our dog, Shadow, when she ate a chunk of salmon my dad had tossed on the deck while he was filleting.
Your the second person I know that has/had a dog named Shadow. Our second named him after "Sonic the Hedgehog's" nemesis. I hadn't heard about salmon. I've made a new rule however, NO PEOPLE FOOD EVER. I think it is safest that way, especially with little ones who need "absolute" rules. (Not that they gave him the bacon grease.)
