I have this friend. She's awesome, no doubt about it, but she has one major failing. While she is a big lover of the NHL she remains frustratingly ambivalent on the subject of the AIHL.

It's basically the NHL with an added fail factor of about 1000, I tell her, and the fail makes it awesome! You're a Crosby fan, you obviously already love faily

Awww. This was pretty cool to read, and I love that one guy managed to get the AIHL on board!

See, now you make me feel terrible for not going to check out the local (ice!)hockey here before the season ended. Although apparently the Dutch beat Australia at the Division 1 world championships, so hah! :P

Thanks! I figured if I was going to write it all up for my please-please-come-to-a-game-with-me campaign I might as well post it here.

Everyone beats Australia! I'm mostly just impressed that they got there. Like the Jamaican bobsled team.

WHO ARE: *drumroll* Kiefer Smiley and Phil Ginand. They're working in a construction site of some kind (or possibly at a mine) and getting really good pay. Which seems to stun them, as per this tweet from Kiefer Smiley

Ah, yes, the tradie culture. A little bit of physical labour and they get all the big bucks.

They must be construction. I don't think there is a close enough mine unless they are doing fly-in-fly-out. Also, they are way too clean (in that photo at least)

That house must be a riot of epic failure lol

I'm still deciding whether following these guys on twitter will end in lolariouus disaster or not. IT COULD GO EITHER WAY.
